Suspect On Loose After Robbery At Long Island Gas Station

A suspect is on the loose after a robbery at a gas station on Long Island.

It happened at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2 at the BP station at 969 Atlantic Ave. in Baldwin, Nassau County Police said.

According to First Squad detectives, the man entered the station and demanded the male employee, 33, open the register. 

The employee did not comply and the subject began pressing buttons on the register until it opened, said police. 

The suspect then removed an undisclosed amount of cash fled westbound on foot, according to police.

The suspect was wearing dark clothing and had a dark-colored bandana covering his face, police said.
